for Senior Art Program

Center for the Arts is thrilled to announce our receipt of a $5,000 Arts and Culture grant from Crossroads Community Foundation. This will fund the continuation and expansion of the Senior Arts Program, established in collaboration with
Lexington's Council on Aging. The Senior Arts Program provides arts courses and workshops at the
Senior Center and Adult Supportive Day Care Program. See the Lexington Minuteman article.

ArtWalk 2008--thank you for helping to make it a great success!

The Munroe Center for the Arts and the Lexington Arts and Crafts Society invited 30 Lexington cultural and retail groups to participate in creating two weeks of exhibitions, fun, and performance in Lexington's town center, from May 17 to June 1. Click on the ArtWalk icon above for more information!
ArtCycle Parade gathered at the Visitors Center Lawn, Saturday, May 17 at 12:00 NOON. Click here for info: ArtCycle. It paraded down Massachusetts Avenue.
The Lexington ArtWalk Reception featured speaker Jerry Beck, founder of Lowell's Revolving Museum and a piano jazz trio produced by Jeff Leonard at the Lexington Depot, May 17, 5-7 PM.

LSB Holds Children's Hospital Fundraiser
MCA--Dec 12. Lexington School of Ballet held a "Nutcracker Sweet Tea" fundraiser and toy drive for Children's Hospital. Students from 4-9 years old made Nutcracker holiday crafts, enjoyed a tea party, and watched Nutcracker dances performed by older students. All proceeds and hundreds of toys benefited the hospital.

We are pleased to host A Ceramic Invitational, an exhibition by artists of the Ceramics Guild of the Lexington Arts & Crafts Society curated by Sally Santosuosso (an MCA artist). January 12 through February.

20% of profits from A Gift For the Arts goes into a fund for scholarships for Lexington residents of all ages to attend Munroe Center programs.
